Bright future for solar panel recycling plants

The average service life of our solar panels is about 20-30 years. With the rapid development of the photovoltaic industry, a large number of solar energy manufacturers have been established, and a large number of solar modules have been produced. After 25 years, solar modules have completed their life course one after another, ushering in the end-of-life period.

It is estimated that tens of millions of tons of solar panels will be scrapped by 2050.

A typical crystalline silicon solar panel is made of 65-75% glass, 10-15% aluminum frame, 10% plastic and 3-5% silicon. SUNYGROUP's solar bar recycling plant can dismantle, sort, process and recycle 95% of its materials. After the sorted materials are processed and packaged, they will be sent to different industries for reuse. Of this, two-thirds of the glass is recycled as cullet, which is sent to the glass manufacturing industry; aluminum frames are sent to aluminum refineries; waste plastics can be used as fuel in cement plants; recycled silicon can be reused in the precious metals industry; and finally, the remaining cables and connectors are crushed and sold in the form of copper beads.
