The Eddy Current Separator (also known as a copper-aluminum separator or non-ferrous metal eddy current separator) is a piece of equipment designed for separating metals from non-metals. This separator demonstrates excellent sorting performance across a wide variety of non-magnetic metals; it effectively achieves the automatic separation of non-metallic materials from non-ferrous metals and facilitates the efficient recovery of various non-ferrous metals.
The Eddy Current Separator is designed based on the principle that a conductive material generates induced currents when exposed to a high-frequency alternating magnetic field. During operation, a high-frequency alternating magnetic field is generated on the surface of the sorting magnetic drum. When conductive non-ferrous metals pass through this magnetic field, eddy currents are induced within them. These induced currents, in turn, generate a secondary magnetic field that opposes the direction of the original magnetic field. Consequently, the non-ferrous metals (such as copper, aluminum, etc.) are propelled forward—leaping along their direction of transport—due to the repulsive force of the magnetic field, thereby achieving separation from other non-conductive or non-metallic substances and fulfilling the objective of sorting.
Features of the Eddy Current Separator:
1. Convenient installation and operation; high separation efficiency.
2. Utilizes high-strength permanent magnet materials as the magnetic source, ensuring stable and long-lasting magnetic performance.
3. Requires no electrical power for magnetization, resulting in energy savings.
4. Features a compact, reliable, and well-engineered structure that is easy to maintain.
5. Generates a strong, adjustable repulsive force, offering high adaptability to various materials.
6. Accommodates a wide range of particle sizes; capable of sorting non-magnetic non-ferrous metals with particle sizes greater than 2 mm.
